Our client is a global manufacturer operating within a highly regulated production environment. With decades of engineering innovation behind them, they play a vital role in producing products that positively impact people's lives.

Following significant investment and a major site expansion programme, they are looking to appoint an Energy & Utilities Engineer to support both ongoing operations and large-scale capital projects. This is a rare opportunity to work on a multi-million-pound infrastructure expansion while remaining close to day-to-day engineering activities.

Role Overview

Energy & Utilities Engineer - Shift Pattern - 4 on 4 off, 2 days, 2 nights

This is a varied role combining maintenance engineering with project delivery. Approximately 70% of your time will be focused on CAPEX projects involving utilities infrastructure, with the remaining 30% supporting maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities.

You will work closely with project managers, utilities specialists, contractors, and site engineering teams to ensure critical systems continue operating safely and efficiently while expansion projects are delivered successfully.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support utilities-focused CAPEX projects
  • Fault find and troubleshoot critical utility systems
  • Work across steam, HVAC, water, gas, compressed air, and site services infrastructure
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across engineering and operations teams
  • Support maintenance and reliability improvement activities
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across site utilities
Key Requirements
  • Experience with steam generation systems is essential
  • Background in both maintenance engineering and CAPEX project delivery
  • Experience within food, pharmaceutical, brewing, or similar process industries
  • HNC, HND or NVQ in Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Project management experience or qualifications would be advantageous
