Job Description

Role Summary: We are seeking a visionary and strategic Director of Network Automation to lead the transformation of our global network into a programmable, self healing, highly resilient platform, defining enterprise wide strategy and product roadmap for network automation across WAN, LAN, data centre, firewall, load balancer, and DDI systems.

Strategic Leadership & Product Vision
  • Develop and own the multi year product strategy and roadmap for the Network Automation platform, aligning with business and technology objectives.
  • Champion an "automation first" culture across the Network Products and Services organization with key stakeholders in Security, Cloud, and Application teams.
Team Building & Organizational Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high performing team of product owners, devops engineers and software developers.
  • Manage resourcing (devops and developers) to meet the business needs for the development of network automation products.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative environment, breaking down silos between network engineering, architecture, and software development.
Platform Architecture & Governance
  • Establish and govern the enterprise standards, frameworks, and best practices for network automation.
  • Oversee the architecture of a scalable, secure, reusable automation platform using Java/Spring, C#, Python, Terraform, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Drive the adoption of Infrastructure as Code and GitOps methodologies across the network estate.
  • Finalize technical decisions and ensure the automation platform meets stringent reliability and security requirements.
Execution & Cross Functional Partnership
  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of robust automation solutions for network provisioning, migrations, configuration management, compliance auditing, and self healing remediation.
  • Partner with the Cybersecurity team to embed security controls and compliance checks directly into the automation fabric.
  • Ensure all automation code and processes are well documented, tested and version controlled.
  • Communicate program progress, challenges and successes to executive leadership.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Progressive experience in network engineering, architecture, and automation, managing global technical teams.
  • Proven experience in a financial services or service provider environment, understanding the criticality of low latency, high availability networks.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering a large scale network automation roadmap in a mission critical environment.
  • Deep technical knowledge of WAN, LAN, Data Center, Firewall, Load Balancer, and DDI automation.
  • Expert level proficiency in Python and Java/Spring, C#, Terraform, Git.
  • Deep understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Strong knowledge of network security principles and how to automate compliance.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Experience
  • Direct experience in a market venue, exchange, or high frequency trading environment.
  • Experience with cloud networking and automation in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Advanced certifications such as CCIE, JNCIE, or relevant cloud/security credentials.
  • Experience with container networking (Kubernetes) and API driven infrastructure.
  • Experience developing cross domain understanding and alignment between developers, architecture and end user stakeholders using Event Storming and End User story mapping techniques.
