The post-holder will work without direct supervision and may be required to take charge of the Critical Care Unit for a span of duty in the absence of the Unit Manager or Matron.
Key responsibilities will include the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care, effective leadership and staff management/development.
The post holder will always work within the NMC's Code of Professional Conduct.

You will lead, provide and supervise a very high standard of compassionate care to our patients, whilst being accountable for staffing issues and managing a large team. You will support the safety and quality agenda of patient care and staff management, ensuring that the values and objectives of the Trust are met, whilst improving patient outcomes.
Likewise, you will support the journey of the patient from admission to discharge, identify risk and formulate actions to reduce this risk and ensure patient throughput is effective. You will support the Matron, Consultants and the Multi Disciplinary Team and deputise for seniors in their absence.
We are a 33 bedded area that covers surgical and medical patients. We provide level 2 and 3 care to patients that require extra support in multi organ failure. In addition to this, we have a 4 bedded enhanced surgical recovery unit. We have a robust team and a Practice Educator to support safe care within the unit.
