Project Engineer - Security Systems Specialist

Location: London
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 basic plus overtime and travel.

Our client is a well-established commercial security systems integrator delivering large-scale, technically complex projects across the UK and internationally. They're looking for an experienced Project Engineer - Security Systems Specialist to join their London-based team. Position Overview

You'll support the delivery of complex security projects from installation through to commissioning, acting as the technical lead on site. Working closely with project managers, engineers and subcontractors, you'll oversee system setup, programming and integration while ensuring all work meets NSI standards and industry compliance. Your role is crucial in ensuring projects are delivered on time, to specification and to the highest technical standard, directly impacting client satisfaction and project success.

Responsibilities
  • Support project managers with day-to-day on site delivery and coordinate engineers and subcontractors
  • Lead technical delivery across installation and commissioning phases of security projects
  • Oversee system setup, programming and integration of security systems
  • Carry out testing, fault finding and final commissioning of systems
  • Complete project documentation, commissioning sheets and reports accurately
  • Liaise with clients and stakeholders, providing technical updates and guidance
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards
  • Support and mentor junior engineers, developing their technical capabilities
Requirements
  • Minimum 4 years' experience within the security systems industry
  • Strong understanding of system integration and large scale project delivery
  • Working knowledge of NSI standards and compliance requirements
  • Good knowledge of networking, TCP/IP, routing and switching
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Strong problem solving ability and proactive approach to challenges
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Experience with leading platforms such as Genetec, Lenel, Gallagher or Paxton (highly advantageous)
