Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Security Team. The role will be based at the Aintree, Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen sites.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in providing a professional and effective Traffic Officer service tailored to meet the needs of the Trust.
  • Maintain good order and prevent public disorder on all Trust sites.
  • Protect patients, staff, contractors and visitors against acts of violence, aggression and abuse.
  • Protect Trust property and property belonging to patients, staff, visitors and contractors against loss, theft and damage.
  • Maintain traffic routes throughout the Trust site.
  • Patrol Trust car parks and secure movement of vehicles.
  • Issue notices or Breach of Contract (BOC) fines for unauthorized parking.
  • Provide emergency response to incidents on all Trust premises and de escalate incidents of disorder.
  • Maintain accurate written records of security incidents and complete electronic incident forms, police witness statements and duty logs.
  • Complete pocket notebooks to a recognised evidential standard for investigative requirements.
  • Liaise with Police, submit statements, preserve and correlate evidence.
  • Prevent loss of property and conduct preliminary investigations into losses to Trust, staff and patients.
  • Assist with secure movement of cash, including revenue from vending machines, catering outlets, fundraising and the General Office.
  • Patrol sites as directed by the Security Operations Manager or duty supervisor and respond promptly to alarms.
  • Instigate Police response to suspicious incidents and respond to major incidents in line with the Major Incident Policy.
  • Escort lone workers or vulnerable staff where there is an identified risk and support them according to the Lone Worker Policy.
  • Maintain records of lost and found property incidents and operate a secure key register.
  • Monitor the fire alarm system, investigate alarms and direct the fire brigade on call out.
  • Maintain clear routes for emergency services.
  • Complete all mandatory training and undertake any other relevant training.
  • Undertake any other duties relating to security as requested by the Security Operations Manager or duty supervisor.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Trust policies - Security, Dealing with Violence and Aggression, and Lone Worker Control Room.
  • Answer all emergency telephone calls courteously and professionally.
  • Delegate and prioritise tasks to patrol officers.
  • Monitor CCTV for all Trust sites, report faults, and facilitate access for Police investigations.
  • Maintain CCTV logs in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
