Endoscopy Waiting List Coordinator

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Waiting List Co ordinator at 37.5 hours per week working in the Endoscopy waiting list team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and excellent team player with an interest in Waiting List Management to join our well established team of staff. The individual needs to be flexible and motivated, with good communication skills as they will be dealing with the general public. It's essential the applicant has good keyboard skills and previous waiting list experience would be desirable.

Job responsibilities
  • Administer waiting lists in line with Trust policies and procedures.
  • Ensure elective admissions are processed effectively and that National and local access targets are met.
  • Undertake systematic, regular validation of the admission lists.
  • Ensure all endoscopy sessions are booked to capacity working closely with the wider Endoscopy team.
  • Agree admission dates with patients and send out letters and information regarding their admission to hospital.
  • Inform Endoscopy staff when special equipment needs to be ordered to ensure it is available at the time of the procedure.
  • Deal with enquiries from patients and G.P.s about waiting times and admissions, including suspected or confirmed cancer and people from differing backgrounds.
  • Maintain specified waiting lists in accordance with Trust waiting list policies.
  • Add patients to the waiting lists within a timely manner, ensuring that patient details are correct and complete.
  • Arrange admissions in accordance with clinical priority (including cancer fast track) and by the breach date.
  • Use knowledge of case mix and equipment requirements when scheduling patients into Endoscopy sessions.
Person Specification Experience
  • Experience of working in NHS clerical
  • Knowledge of waiting list administration
Qualifications
  • Educated to GCSE level in Maths and English
  • NVQ level 2 - Business and Admin (or equivalent)
  • NVQ level 3 - Business and Admin (or equivalent)
  • ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence)
  • Full understanding of patient access targets
  • Able to adapt to changes in practice, policies, and procedures
  • Experience of dealing with the public/patients
  • Knowledge of Trust PAS systems
  • Experience and knowledge of Windows based applications
