Overview

IT Technician Wellingborough Secondary School Full-Time Position Permanent Preferred Fixed-Term or Long-Term Supply Considered ASAP or September 2026 Start

Responsibilities
  • Providing first-line IT support to staff and students across the school
  • Troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues efficiently
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining computers, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment
  • Supporting classroom technology, interactive displays, and audiovisual equipment
  • Assisting with user account management, passwords, and access permissions
  • Monitoring and maintaining the school's network and IT systems
  • Supporting the rollout of new hardware and software across the school
  • Maintaining accurate records of IT assets, repairs, and support requests
Qualifications
  • Has previous experience in an IT support or technician role
  • Has strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Possesses a good understanding of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, and network systems
  • Is organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Communicates confidently with both technical and non-technical users
  • Works well independently and as part of a wider team
  • Previous experience within a school or educational setting is desirable but not essential
