Central Support Office - Newcastle, Central Support, Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom
Job DescriptionEvery year, families across the UK choose Parkdean for their holidays, and almost every part of that experience, from the moment they start thinking about a break to the moment they check out, depends on our software working properly. The Lead Software Engineer role is where the quality of that software gets set.
This is a senior, hands on engineering role where you'll lead from the front.
You'll take ownership of the technical direction within a product squad, while remaining actively involved in writing and reviewing production code. Alongside this, you'll line manage and develop a team of Junior and Mid Level Developers - helping them grow through hands on coaching, feedback, and mentorship.
Working across our modern product stack (C#, ASP.NET, React, Azure, and SQL Server), you'll be responsible for building and evolving the applications that support both our customers and our colleagues across 65 holiday parks.
This is true product engineering - focused on the applications and experiences that matter most, working in close collaboration with our Cloud & Platform teams who support infrastructure and tooling.
What you will be doingwe're looking for someone who's truly hands on - actively writing production code day to day, not just drawing on past experience. You'll have a strong track record of mentoring or leading engineers, paired with excellent technical judgement, high standards for code quality, and the ability to raise the bar across a team.
Previous line management experience is a strong advantage. If you've already managed direct reports, you'll be able to make an immediate impact. If not, you should be ready to.
Parkdean Resorts takes safeguarding seriously therefore background checks including DBS (or equivalent) will be carried out if appropriate.
