Job Description

Quality Manager - 24 month FTC

The Quality Manager will ensure that the project meets the highest standards of quality, compliance, and performance. The role works closely with the Project Manager, Standards Compliance Manager, risk manager, training manager, and other stakeholders to align with the Quality Management System (QMS) and industry best practices.

Key Duties
  • Develop and update the QMS documentation (Manual, processes, procedures and controls) in accordance with contractual requirements, ISO 9001, ITIL, ISO/IEC 20000, ISO 27001, ISO 31000, etc.
  • Develop and implement a Project Quality Plan and the Quality Audit Schedule to assure QMS implementation. Analyse non conformances and complaints for trends and root causes, and report to senior management.
  • Lead, mentor and develop a multidisciplinary Quality Team to conduct inspections, audits, controls and reviews across all services, systems and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with project managers, technical leads, operations managers and client representatives.
  • Identify quality risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimise impact on services delivery and contractual obligations.
  • Provide training and guidance to project teams on quality management best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Develop a Supplier Quality Plan and review supplier performance data to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Lead lessons learned analysis and ensure outcomes are documented, communicated and applied.
  • Measure and analyse the cost of poor quality and associated corrective actions.
  • Prepare and present regular quality reports to stakeholders, highlighting performance metrics, areas for improvement and progress on quality initiatives.
  • Act as focal point with the customer on quality matters, including quality claims, and ensure corrective actions are taken.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance or a related discipline.
  • Quality management certifications (e.g. IRCA Internal Auditor ISO 9001, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Quality, with at least 5 years as a Quality Manager in transportation systems, fare collection, IT operations or complex technological projects.
  • Experience leading quality teams in operational and technological environments.
  • Proven track record implementing ISO 9001 or similar standards.
  • Experience with IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL) and back office or service desk operations preferred.
  • Experience working with UK public sector clients, ideally within transport or infrastructure environments.
  • Strong knowledge of international and UK quality management standards.
  • Strong analytical and structured problem solving skills.
