Job Summary

Position: Business Development Executive (BDE)

Location: Mobile across Stewartby and Milton Keynes

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday

Salary: Base up to £32,000 per annum plus car, commission scheme and Veolia benefits.

Reporting to: Business Manager; work with Project Coordinators and Operations Managers.

Responsibilities
  • Develop sales and bid opportunities within the South, building and maintaining the pipeline and reporting new business sales leads for the Stewartby, Southampton, and Cardiff Industrial Services depots.
  • Coordinate the conversion of sales opportunities with the project and operations teams to establish a strong and robust sales pipeline.
  • Organise client visits within the region and manage day to day activities based on own strategies and customer needs.
  • Make independent decisions on sales approach, negotiation strategy and adapt to different client personalities.
  • Establish new sales, develop existing contracts, and communicate with internal and external sales stakeholders.
  • Provide project life cycle updates to the local business unit and keep the Project Coordinators and Operations Managers informed.
  • Prospect new clients, network through local synergy meetings ("Winning Together") and other touchpoints.
  • Liaise with the national Business Development team to support wider opportunities in the region.
  • Use the business CRM system (Salesforce) to record all opportunities and maintain accurate records.
  • Attend appointments promptly and report progress to the Business Manager.
  • Prepare progress reports, daily movement reports and support strategic business decisions.
  • Conduct on site consultations to assess project requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies, promote a safety culture, and maintain fleet compliance.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to support organic and strategic growth.
  • Support Business Plan development, implementation of policies and procedures, and regional succession planning.
  • Participate in Emergency Response Duty Rota, including night shift work.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations on the business service line.
  • Prepare quotations and proposal documents using the provided format and costing matrix.
  • Manage own expenses, travel and accommodation using company systems.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Proven track record of building a sales pipeline and handing delivery over to operations.
  • Strong communication skills, confident presentation ability at all levels.
  • Team player with ability to work within established processes and procedures.
  • Good understanding of industrial cleaning technologies and waste management practices across the Southern region (taught on the job).
  • Ability to learn new skills, technologies and keep up with market trends.
  • Ability to work independently and make sales decisions.
  • Proficiency in using a CRM system (prior Salesforce experience a plus).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
