The Digital Design Engineer Group Manager is accountable for managing complex, critical, and large professional disciplinary areas. They lead and direct a team of professionals, applying in depth knowledge of multiple areas within a function and how they interact to achieve the function's objectives. They exercise control over resources, formulate policy, plan, and engage in commercial awareness. They are ultimately responsible for the end results of their area, negotiate internally at a senior level, and may engage in some external communication.
Responsibilities
- Drive and support product vision from concept to production.
- Proactively incorporate customer learnings to determine product enhancement or sunset decisions.
- Provide cross organizational and cross disciplinary solutions across the company.
- Use creative process and design thinking to improve products.
- Support business stakeholders in creating or improving marketing campaign strategies and measuring effectiveness.
- Launch, manage and optimize digital feature enhancements across all channels, monitoring, measuring, and reporting on performance.
- Provide thought leadership through high quality data analysis and research.
- Evaluate new product concepts for viability and present them to senior stakeholders for approval.
- Convert ideas into basic wireframes to guide UX and UI designers.
- Listen well, negotiate effectively, and manage conflicting viewpoints to ensure alignment and progress.
- Train stakeholders on new products, interfaces, features, and customer experience.
- Partner with outside vendors and agencies, taking ownership of their work and deliverables.
- Propose groundbreaking solutions for approval by stakeholders.
- Attract senior talent, facilitate understanding of organizational tenets and strategic goals, and build skill development plans.
- Share talent development best practices across the organization.
- Audit department goals for alignment, hold the department accountable for performance.
- Set high performance standards and advocate for departmental resources.
- Communicate a department vision that supports the broader organizational vision.
- Ensure team culture aligns with leadership principles and tenets.
- Assess risk in business decisions, protect company reputation, comply with applicable laws and regulations, apply ethical judgment, and supervise activity with accountability.
Qualifications
- Significant years of experience in software development, specifically Figma.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; data driven and results oriented.
- Experience running high traffic, distributed, cloud based services.
- Experience driving large culture change.
- Experience leading infrastructure programs.
- Skilled at working with third party service providers.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Education
Bachelor's or university degree required; Master's degree preferred.
