The Opportunity:Are you passionate about IT and eager to kick start your career in a dynamic sports environment? Sunderland AFC is offering an exciting apprenticeship opportunity for an IT Apprentice to join our team. This role will involve supporting our day to day IT operations, assisting with technical support, and gaining valuable hands on experience in a busy stadium setting. You'll be part of a dedicated team, helping to ensure our stadium and business critical systems run smoothly during matchdays and events.
As an apprentice, you'll have the chance to develop your technical skills through a funded Level 3 IT Solutions Technician Apprenticeship, while contributing to the club's success. Key responsibilities include providing helpdesk support, maintaining IT infrastructure, assisting with hardware and software deployment, and supporting user account management. You'll be encouraged to learn, grow, and take on new challenges in a vibrant sports environment.
What We Ask For:We're looking for a motivated individual with a genuine interest in IT and technology. You should have at least 5 GCSEs (Level 4 or above), including Maths and English. An A-Level in an IT related discipline is desirable but not essential. The ideal candidate will possess good problem solving skills, attention to detail, and a basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking.
You must be a team player with excellent communication skills, reliable, punctual, and eager to learn. A positive attitude and strong work ethic are essential, along with a willingness to participate in ongoing training and development. The role requires a proactive mindset, the ability to work well under supervision, and a commitment to adhering to club policies on data protection and safety.
You will be required to obtain an Enhanced DBS through SAFC.
