Training Delivery Instructor - Pipefitter Engineering

Project Selborne is a transformational training programme aimed at modernising Royal Navy training to deliver better trained sailors to the front line faster. As a Training Delivery Instructor you will support the delivery of training across the Coppersmith/Pipefitter skills area within the Skill of Hand Training group on a term time basis (45 weeks per year, with breaks during Christmas, Easter and August).

About the Role

• Provide training on how to fit pipework on ships from a drawing (Fit from design).
• Teach brazing techniques.
• Maintain strong working relationships with customers and colleagues within the Marine Engineering Electrical training area.
• Support trainee development through assessment, feedback and personalised learning approaches.
• Maintain and update training materials, contributing to the modernisation and improvement of training delivery.
• Ensure compliance with KPIs, SLAs and safety standards, while maintaining a CPD portfolio.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum Level 3 Technical Certificate in an Engineering discipline.
  • Proficient in the use of IT (hardware/software) within the workplace.
  • Competent practical Coppersmith/Pipefitter hand skills.
  • Proven experience in workshop/industry principles.
  • Desirable: Level 4 Teaching Qualification, DCTS Defence Train The Trainer Course or equivalent (successful completion).
  • Previous instructional experience in a military or civilian engineering environment.
  • Eligibility for UK Security Clearance at SC level.
