Senior Azure Local Cloud Engineer
CGI's Space, Defence & Intelligence business unit delivers secure, mission-critical solutions that support national defence. We are seeking an Azure Cloud Engineer to support a highly secure programme for UK Defence.
This role will support an established secure project: a global electronic medical and dental records system used by the UK Armed Forces worldwide, including deployed and maritime environments. It is a hands on role supporting a live, business critical service.
This position requires some on site work in Leatherhead and holding or going through UK Security Clearance.
Responsibilities
- Engineer, operate and maintain Azure Local / hybrid cloud platforms
- Manage compute, storage, networking, patching and hardware lifecycle
- Monitor platform health, performance and capacity
- Act as an escalation point for incidents and lead root cause analysis
- Deploy and configure Azure Local and Azure hybrid integrations (Azure Arc, Backup)
- Ensure compliance with security, governance and operational standards
Qualifications
- Strong hands on experience with Azure Local / Azure Stack HCI
- Solid understanding of on prem infrastructure (servers, storage, networking)
- Experience supporting production systems and resolving complex incidents
- Comfortable working in structured, ITIL aligned environments
- Defence or regulated sector experience (desirable)
