Senior Software Tester

Up to £70,000 Mostly Remote Farnborough (occasional visits)

Are you passionate about building robust, high-quality products and want to make a real impact on how testing is done? We are looking for a Senior Software Tester to take ownership of testing strategy and elevate quality across complex mobile and device environments.

This is more than a testing role. You will shape automation frameworks, influence technical decisions and mentor others, playing a key part in driving engineering excellence.

We're looking for a detail-driven problem solver with a passion for quality and a strong technical foundation. The ideal candidate will enjoy working across hardware and software and thrive in collaborative environments.

For this role you must be a sole UK national, eligible and willing to undergo Security Check clearance (SC Clearance).

Key skills and experience:

• Strong Python skills for scripting and automation
• Proven experience in mobile devicetesting and managing test environments
• Background in automation strategy and or improving testing processes
• Knowledge of firmwarelifecycle, including deployment, updates and versioning
• Experience with CI or CD pipelines, version control and automation tools
• Solid understanding of iOS and Android platforms
• Analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex device interactions
• Excellent communication skills and confidence to mentor and support others

What you will be doing:

This is a hands-on senior role where you will lead by example and drive improvements across testing practices.

• Own and optimise mobile test environments
• Shape and deliver firmware testing and rollout strategies
• Design and build Python based automation frameworks
• Lead both manual and automated testing across mobile platforms
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to plan releases and improve quality
• Analyse, report and communicate test results and insights
• Mentor junior testers and promote best practices
• Continuously improve tools, processes and documentation
• Track and report on test coverage, device usage and performance metrics

• Must be a sole UK national and eligible for SC Clearance
• Candidates must already have the right to work in the UK without requiring sponsorship
