Job Description

Location: Multiple UK locations available | Hybrid (2 days onsite)

Contract: Initial 6 months
Rate: Competitive rates - Negotiable

We are supporting a large global banking organisation undertaking a major AI transformation programme and are seeking an experienced AI Architect to help shape the future of enterprise AI platforms and intelligent systems.

This is an opportunity to join a high-profile programme delivering next-generation AI capabilities across a complex, enterprise-scale environment. You will play a key role in defining AI strategy, designing scalable architectures and enabling AI-powered solutions across a large international organisation.

Working alongside engineering, product and business teams, you will design secure, scalable and future-ready AI ecosystems that support innovation at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design enterprise AI and agentic AI architectures across cloud and hybrid environments
  • Define scalable AI reference architectures and integration patterns
  • Architect end-to-end AI platforms covering ingestion, model training, deployment and inference
  • Lead API-first and event-driven architectural design
  • Define MLOps and LLMOps standards and governance practices
  • Drive observability, AI monitoring and operational best practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business outcomes
  • Ensure architecture aligns with security, risk and compliance requirements

Required Experience

  • Strong background designing enterprise AI solutions and architecture frameworks
  • Experience building Agentic AI and multi-agent systems
  • Strong understanding of LLMs, Generative AI, RAG, embeddings and vector databases
  • Experience with orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, MCP or similar technologies
  • Strong knowledge of API-first integration and microservices architecture
  • Cloud platform experience (GCP preferred)
  • Experience implementing AI governance and observability frameworks

Desirable Experience

  • Financial services or regulated industry experience
  • Exposure to MLOps/LLMOps practices
  • Banking domain knowledge including lending, payments or risk
  • Understanding of AI model governance and auditability
