Digital Transformation Leader - Supplier Quality (Life Sciences)
Virtusa is seeking a high caliber Digital Transformation Leader to spearhead the evolution of the Supplier Quality (SQ) ecosystem for a global Life Sciences giant. This role is not just program management; it is a mandate to dismantle a fragmented, legacy landscape and architect a world class Supplier Intelligence Control Tower.
Responsibilities
- Direct the SQ digital transformation initiatives, overseeing the transition from a fragmented architecture to a unified platform.
- Manage the phased implementation roadmap, starting with a 6 week discovery phase, defining use cases, and securing executive funding for scale.
- Address the "Iceberg Effect" by expanding digital visibility beyond Direct/BOM suppliers to integrate Indirect/Service suppliers currently missing from digital monitoring.
- Oversee the transition from siloed Quickbase apps to a Medallion Architecture on Databricks to ensure data integrity and lineage.
- Drive the strategy for real time and batch data ingestion using Apache Spark, Azure Data Factory, or AWS Glue.
- Lead the implementation of identity resolution strategies to create a "Golden Record" for suppliers across disparate ERP and QMS systems.
- Oversee the deployment of advanced AI/ML use cases, including Natural Language Processing for automated audit data extraction.
- Provide technical oversight of Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) frameworks to allow users to query unstructured audit reports using natural language.
- Deep understanding of the ML Lifecycle (MLOps) - from feature engineering for risk scoring to model monitoring and drift detection.
- Guide the implementation of "Agentic AI" for autonomous 24/7 supplier monitoring and the creation of Supplier Digital Twins for "what if" risk simulations.
- Lead organizational change journey management to ensure high user adoption of new dashboards and automated workflows.
- Establish strong governance and partner closely with Procurement, Site Quality, MSAT, and Management teams to ensure the unified system supports end to end oversight (Select, Qualify, Monitor, Disengage).
- Ensure all digital deployments strictly adhere to GxP validation standards and support FDA/EMA compliance requirements.
- Shift from traditional CSV to CSA (FDA's latest guidance) to accelerate deployment of automated workflows.
- Practical knowledge of differential privacy or data masking techniques for handling PII/PHI within a Databricks/Cloud environment.
- Experience implementing automated, immutable audit trails within low code and cloud native applications.
Key Skills and Experience
- 12+ years of leadership in IT/Digital Transformation within Life Sciences or Biopharma, delivering $5M+ digital portfolios.
- Deep authority on Supplier Quality Management (SQM), QMS, and global regulatory landscapes (FDA/EMA) to manage GxP compliant platforms.
- Architectural fluency in the Databricks ecosystem (Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, MLflow).
- Cloud infrastructure
- Deep understanding of Azure/AWS and security requirements of highly regulated data.
- Experience decommissioning/migrating legacy Low Code/No Code (Quickbase, PowerApps) environments.
- API management
- Strong understanding of Apigee, MuleSoft and FHIR/HL7 standards (if applicable to supplier clinical data).
- Proven track record of operationalizing advanced data strategies, including MDM, AI/ML, NLP technologies.
- Proficiency in Cloudera, Power BI, Python, SQL, and a modern understanding of Prompt Engineering and AI model orchestration.
- Mastery of DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines for data heavy, validated GxP environments.
- Leadership
- Exceptional cross functional leadership, management of SI partners, and navigation of complex matrix organizations.
- Influencer: Proven ability to manage high stakes relationships with Tier 1 System Integrators.
- Strategist: Translate complex technical jargon into compelling business narratives for the C Suite.
- Execution Focused: Comfortable moving between high level strategy and technical deep dives with engineering teams.
Nice to Have
- SAFe Agile, PRINCE2 Practitioner Certification.
- Experience working across Cloud Solutions - Azure, AWS, GCP, Snowflake.
- Experience tracking and managing business priorities and goals through OKRs.
