Principal Cloud Engineer
We are at a defining moment in our digital journey, embarking on a migration to a hybrid cloud model, primarily Microsoft Fabric and a modern Azure ecosystem.
Position Details
- Permanent, full time role.
- Hybrid working - one day per week onsite.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for the technology choices and technical architecture across our Azure tenant and digital cloud assets.
- Lead the transition of core networking, identity, and complex workloads (IaaS/PaaS) to the cloud, ensuring a solid, secure foundation for the data team's Microsoft Fabric rollout.
- Design and implement the Azure Landing Zone, integrating our 500 site network into a stable, scalable, and manageable system.
- Lead "lean cloud" initiatives-optimising resources and ensuring cloud spend is transparent and efficient.
Qualifications
- 7+ years in cloud computing as a senior engineering role (AZ 305 or equivalent desirable).
- 5+ years in technical or systems architecture on cloud/on prem platforms.
- 5+ years of experience with core cybersecurity concepts and best practice (AZ 500 or equivalent desirable).
- Experience with Microsoft data products such as Fabric, Data Factory, DataBricks, Cosmos, SQL, Purview.
- Experience with AI tools, e.g., AI Foundry, MVC, mainstream LLMs.
