Principal Cloud Engineer We are at a defining moment in our digital journey, embarking on a migration to a hybrid cloud model, primarily Microsoft Fabric and a modern Azure ecosystem. Position Details Permanent, full time role. Hybrid working - one day per week onsite. Supportive team environment with onsite parking and a mini market. Responsibilities Responsible for the technology choices and technical architecture across our Azure tenant and digital cloud assets. Lead the transition of core networking, identity, and complex workloads (IaaS/PaaS) to the cloud, ensuring a solid, secure foundation for the data team's Microsoft Fabric rollout. Design and implement the Azure Landing Zone, integrating our 500 site network into a stable, scalable, and manageable system. Lead "lean cloud" initiatives-optimising resources and ensuring cloud spend is transparent and efficient. Qualifications 7+ years in cloud computing as a senior engineering role (AZ 305 or equivalent desirable). 5+ years in technical or systems architecture on cloud/on prem platforms. 5+ years of experience with core cybersecurity concepts and best practice (AZ 500 or equivalent desirable). Experience with Microsoft data products such as Fabric, Data Factory, DataBricks, Cosmos, SQL, Purview. Experience with AI tools, e.g., AI Foundry, MVC, mainstream LLMs. Benefits Competitive salary.
