Technical Author (OT/Cyber Security)

We're supporting a leading organisation in the search for an experienced Technical Author with a strong background in cyber security and technical documentation.

This role will focus on developing and refining operational technology (OT) cyber security procedures across industrial and operational environments.

Working alongside Industrial Security, Engineering, and Governance SMEs, you'll be responsible for translating security policy, standards, and technical requirements into clear, practical, and auditable operational procedures.

You will:

• Develop and maintain OT cyber security procedures and operational documentation
• Translate technical security standards and policies into step-by-step operational processes
• Work closely with engineering, operations, and cyber security SMEs to formalise operational practices
• Document how cyber security controls are implemented across OT environments
• Ensure documentation aligns with governance, audit, and regulatory requirements
• Support document life cycle management, approvals, and version control
• Identify gaps between policy intent and operational execution

We're looking for candidates with:

• Proven experience as a Technical Author within cyber security, infrastructure, or regulated environments
• Experience producing operational procedures, technical manuals, or security playbooks
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills across engineering, operations, and security teams
• Experience producing documentation suitable for audit and regulatory scrutiny
• Familiarity with security governance frameworks
• Ability to simplify complex technical concepts into clear operational procedures

Experience within any of the following would be highly beneficial:

• Utilities
• OT/ICS environments
• IEC/ISA 62443 frameworks
• Industrial cyber security environments

• Contract Length: 6 months
• Rate: £600-£700 per day
• Location: Remote with occasional travel to Yorkshire
• Start: ASAP
• IR35: iNSIDE IR35
