Salary: £50-60k basic (depending on experience) plus benefits.

A print and packaging company is recruiting for a Quality Manager who will have overall authority for the quality performance, including product disposition and release.

The Quality Manager is accountable for leading the Quality Team for the site. The role will execute the defined Strategic Quality Plan with site leadership, provide Total Quality Leadership to customers, suppliers, partners, and internal manufacturing processes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to meet industry standards, government regulations, and customer requirements. The manager will also conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance.

Principal Accountabilities and Key Activities
  • Managing the Quality Department for the site.
  • Defining strategy for the Quality Unit size, organisational structure, and culture.
  • Leading internal Quality System audits and completing part approval documentation to assure customer requirements are met.
  • Analyzing organisational quality metrics, performing managerial reviews, and recommending action plans to close operational gaps.
  • Training and coaching Quality operators and team to maintain high competency.
  • Developing, implementing, and auditing complex inspection and test plans, standards, acceptance criteria, and procedures/work instructions.
  • Coordinating with plant leadership to prepare consolidated plant, customer, and product status information and action plans.
  • Implementing the GMP standard on the production site.
  • Ensuring preparation and outcomes of all GMP based regulatory and customer audits.
  • Liaising with customer technical, production, and quality departments.
  • Upholding health and safety rules and procedures.
  • Maintaining a safe working environment for the function and participating in site safety activities.
Education, Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience managing a Quality Department or a senior QA position.
  • Trustworthiness, ability, and initiative to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel if required.
  • Strong experience within a GMP environment.
  • Broad experience in quality assurance, system development, regulatory compliance, validation, and manufacturing groups.
  • Experience with continuous improvement techniques such as LEAN, Kaizen, Black Belt, etc.
