The Opportunity
A leading UK consulting firm is investing in the growth of its Technology data and analytics team. This role would suit someone currently operating as a Senior or Lead Data Engineer, or an experienced data engineer with 5+ years' commercial experience, looking for a senior, hands-on role with leadership responsibility.
You will combine technical delivery, client engagement and team leadership, supporting a growing analytics capability operating across complex, regulated engagements.
The Role
You will:
- Design and deliver data pipelines, analytics models and automated testing using Microsoft Fabric and Databricks
- Build solutions using Python, PySpark and SQL
- Work directly with clients, lawyers and regulators, supporting forensic investigations
- Set and maintain engineering and governance standards
- Mentor and develop team members and support ongoing hiring as the team grows
- Build reusable analytics components to improve consistency and efficiency
- Support proposals and contribute to the wider analytics community
About You
You will likely be:
- Currently a Senior or Lead Data Engineer/Analytics Lead, or
- A data engineer with at least 5 years' experience ready for a senior leadership role
You'll bring:
- Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric or Azure Synapse; Databricks highly beneficial
- Advanced Python, SQL and Spark/PySpark
- Solid experience designing scalable data pipelines
- Client-facing delivery experience
- Background in consulting, professional services or regulated environments (forensic experience advantageous)
