Our client, a leading player in the aerospace industry, is seeking a talented Test Engineer to join their dynamic team in Marston Green, Birmingham. Position Summary:

As a Test Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the setup, commissioning, and support of production test rigs for Engine Control systems. This role encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities, including test rig design, software development, fault diagnostics, and equipment validation through advanced data analysis techniques.

Summary:

  • Start date: ASAP
  • Duration: 6 months with potential to be extended
  • Location: Marston Green, Birmingham
  • Pay Rate: Negotiable
  • Hours: 37 per week - Monday to Friday either 7-3 or 8-4

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Asset Care team to ensure test equipment is available, compliant, and calibrated.
  • Develop, modify, and validate innovative test rigs.
  • Maintain and enhance various software standards (e.g., NI TestStand, LabView, LabWindows, C, C#).
  • Diagnose issues and test failures related to test software/hardware, controls, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.
  • Produce technical reports capturing data analysis and justifications for approval.

Requirements:

  • Relevant engineering degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • Proven experience in test engineering and programming, with a strong background in electronics
  • A methodical approach with the ability to document and present findings effectively to stakeholders.
  • Excellent teamwork skills, combined with the ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
  • Strong written, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Awareness of HS&E regulations related to Test Equipment
