Candidate profileReporting to a Software Engineering Manager, the Lead Backend Engineer will serve as the technical authority for backend development-setting architectural direction, shaping engineering practices, and driving continuous improvement across tools and delivery processes.While remaining hands-on for high-impact work, your primary influence will come through technical leadership: empowering teams to build scalable, secure, and high-performing services.With deep expertise in backend technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, and event-driven systems like Kafka, you'll help ensure architectural consistency and elevate engineering standards across multiple teams.This role is central to aligning technical strategy with business objectives and future-proofing the products backend capabilitiesPerson
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Strong Java experience (versions 7 through to latest)
    • Familiarity with Spring Boot, AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka
  • Product Mindset:
    • Experience in product based organisations
    • Proven ability to think beyond delivery-considering scalability, cost, latency, and long-term impact
  • Leadership & Mentorship:
