Due to the rapid expansion of our new Data and Insight Team to support this project, there is an urgent need for a Senior Data Architect. You will examine all workstreams to evaluate client operations then translate requirements into solutions and report back to the wider business.
The Data Architect is a key member of the team and will play an important part in defining the enterprise data strategy. This will drive how the team can best support the ongoing transformation and delivery activities across the business.
What you'll be doing: - Defining the data architecture framework, standards, and principles, including modelling, metadata, security, reference data and master data
- Defining data flows and data lineage, visualising which parts of the organisation generate data, which require data to function, how data flows are managed, and how data
- changes in transition
- Design of data models, metadata systems and support the management of data dictionaries
- Recommend solutions to improve new and existing database systems and lead all aspects of the migration of data from legacy systems to new solutions
- Define how and where data is created, mastered, and destroyed to ensure proper control over the lifecycle of corporate data assets
What you'll bring: - Understanding of architecture and design concepts for data solutions and technologies, database structure systems and data mining
- Ability to operate across the data lifecycle and provide detailed technical advisory on data models & data engineering
- Experience gathering and analysing requirements and turning business problems into data design
- Strong analytical skills with ability to undertake data profiling and source system assessments, and to present clear insights to support the end use of the data
It would be great if you had: - Experience with multiple data storage types and technologies in Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud data solutions
- Functional knowledge of Oracle Financials
The hybrid role is predominantly home based with quarterly travel to of our hubs in Leeds expected.
