Our Defence business within SSCL is on the lookout for several Project Managers to deliver critical projects within a high-profile Transformation Programme, to digitally transform military personnel pay and administration, veterans' pensions and related services for military personnel including reservists, and veterans.
Upon joining SSCL, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of critical project, ranging from the migration of multiple applications onto a Cloud Hosted Platform, the implementation of Cloud Hosting Infrastructure, Infrastructure tooling projects (IDAM, SOC/SIEM & ITSM Tooling), Pension platform, Contact Center & Omnichannel solution depending on technical and project experience.
You could be based anywhere in the UK, however there will be the need to travel to customer sites which could be in; Gosport, Glasgow or London.
What you'll be doing: - Take accountability for the successful delivery of projects, by leading and driving the project delivery
- Directly influence business performance by supporting business strategy and objectives, diligently managing projects to optimise profitably and client satisfaction
- Ensure project controls are established and maintained for all projects within your span of control
- Keep the project team aware of the long-term objectives and focused upon the near-term deliverables
- Set and communicate clear goals and priorities in line with contracted outcomes and project success criteria
- Engage the Project Owner, client, subcontractors, third parties and project stakeholders throughout the duration of each project, developing positive and long- lasting relationships
- Ensure clear and objective assessment of project performance is regularly, clearly and accurately reported, identifying, escalating and resolving conflicts wherever they arise
What you'll bring: We have various Project Manager positions available within our business and therefore we're on the lookout for a mix of experience within these areas;
- Migrations of applications from On-prem onto Cloud platform (OCI advantageous but not crucial)
- Knowledge of ServiceNow and Solarwinds platforms (ITSM Tooling)
- Previous experience with Data centre moves/migrations
- Cloud Infrastructure implementation, including IdAM
- Telephony and Omni-Channel Systems
- Experience of building Cloud infrastructure (OCI)
In addition to the technical experience, we're looking for Project Managers who have;
- Experience in working within 3rd party delivery partners (suppliers)
- Great customer management skills
- Comfortable in working remotely and collaborating closely colleagues across the UK
- Ability to work at pace and sometimes within an ambitious environment
It would be great if you had: - Formal Project Management qualification
- Experience of managing projects worth £5M+ and using Waterfall, Agile and 'blended' methods
- Experience with business change implementation (including training and business readiness)
