OCI Technical Architect

Are you a DBA or, an OCI specialist looking for a new challenge?

The Technical Architect will act as part of a team defining the technical architecture within their area of technical specialism for large or medium scale, medium risk or pre-sales assignments that may lead to major downstream revenue opportunities. Roles at this level achieve results and provide services either personally or through others in a specific area or discipline to meet defined quality or efficiency standards or to ensure best practice advice is given. Individuals possess the skills, knowledge and ability to perform and deliver without day to day supervision. They possess the ability to solve problems with commercial judgment and are influential in customer relationships. Roles at this level will require a detailed understanding of methods, systems and procedures. The work involves limited guidance and only general instructions from more senior colleagues. Therefore initiative and judgment are required to address and resolve daily problems.

Key Responsibilities

• Defines scope and deliverables for assignment with 'client' (may be internal or external) for the design of systems architectures to integrate business and IT requirements
• Delivers assignment in accordance with agreed scope, time, financial and quality measures
• Ensures effective client engagement and stakeholder management during assignment (may include management of subcontractors and partners)
• Completes assignment review with 'client' at the end of each and every assignment (or six monthly for long term assignments)
• Actively promotes Sopra Steria consulting, application management, business process and IT-outsourcing services.
• Seeks and gains recognition outside Sopra Steria within 'expert' area by active involvement in industry / specialist groups that develops recognition of Company's
• capability that is transferable into sales opportunities
• Develops and exploits personal network of contacts within Sopra Steria to ensure high levels of chargeable personal utilisation
• Tracks market trends and competitor activities in 'expert' area and ensure this data is utilised for the ongoing service development
• Shares personal knowledge of 'expert' area through coaching and mentoring, running workshops, establishing 'special interest groups'
• To identify and manage risk in his/her business activities and take responsibility for reporting risks in a timely, open and appropriate manner

Essential Skills

• Cloud technology experience
• Experience of Central Government

Desirable Skills

• Home Office clearance - or willing to undertake
