WHAT TO EXPECT

A central role to JLR's future, enabling the refinement of our future BEV propulsion systems through providing technical knowledge, design support and guidance, issue resolution validation and the development of our IP (Body of Knowledge) - all of which must be delivered using an agile mindset and programme delivery. The technical specialist is also expected to play a part in the development of JLR's staff through mentoring, writing and delivering training material

As part of the Technical Specialist community, you will be a functional resource for the company. This role includes developing the future company strategy for processes, components and systems ultiment refinement.
You will be a custodian of elements of our key technology for current and future products. You will be expected to teach, mentor and present at global conferences.
You will develop a business aligned vision for technical delivery of the attribute or technology. Be involved with technical leadership to drive function, quality, cost or timing improvements on programmes. You will lead / support (exact requirement will be determined between the TS and the Chapter Lead) role for developing new technologies and new applications of current technologies. Have a thorough understanding of both internal and external customer attribute and technology requirements. Support task force activities to solve complex engineering problems. There will be an expectation to teach, mentor and present internally and at world class conferences.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED
You must have an in-depth knowledge and technical expertise in all areas of EP EDU efficiency but specialising in system interactions and optimisation - this must include competitor's intelligence, optimisation and design for efficiency, testing for efficiency and in-vehicle strategies.
The ability to effectively explain complex ideas, confidently presenting these to senior stakeholders using presentation or other tools as required. You need good analytical skills including the ability to conduct complex research into new technologies and tools

Knowledge, skills and experience
Essential:
A degree or relevant equivalent experience
Expert in the area of Powertrain Efficiency - focusing on BEV (EDUs, Inverters, e-machines, transmissions, thermal management for EDUs)
Detail knowledge of how to optimise a power unit calibration for efficiency
Expert problem-solving skills
