Full Time, Fixed Term for 3 years

The Student Support Services (STS) at the University of East Anglia (UEA) wishes to appoint a Systems Manager. The University is investing in new technology platforms and services to support STS and will help to drive the University's Digital transformation ambitions. This role is designed to capitalise on the University's investment in this area, by closely managing newly established platforms and services, and identifying opportunities for greater adoption. This role will involve developing strong vendor management processes and relationships and ensuring that IT services are fit-for-purpose and functioning to meet the needs of the department.

You will work closely with the IT department, as well as the Learning & Teaching support service and other departments, to help ensure data and processes are joined-up across functions and their value is maximized through continuous improvement. Working within the IT architecture team to develop a strategic roadmap for future technology requirements, and to identify future change Programmes or improvements. You will also oversee the provision of statistical data and analysis to support strategic decision-making and will ensure statutory and sector reporting obligations are met. Whilst the role initially focuses solely on STS, as the UEA's technology roadmap grows and expands it is likely that this role will also have an increased interaction with other departments that may, over time, see evolving responsibilities and focus.

You will be educated to degree-level (or equivalent qualification) or have demonstrable relevant experience of leading technology projects within a large organisation or public body. You will have substantial experience in vendor management in a SaaS environment, contract management, cost modelling and associated activities. You will also be comfortable with database infrastructure, analytics and reporting.

It is expected that, for the immediate future, this role will involve a mixture of home and office working (subject to change in the future).

The post is available immediately on a full-time basis for a fixed term period of 3 years.

Closing date: Monday 15 November 2021.

The University is a Silver Institutional Athena Swan Award holder and aims to make its first submission to the Race Equality Charter in 2022.
