The role The Business Development Director plays a leadership role within the Wealth Management Business Development function, supporting the Global Head of Business Development in delivering sustainable growth through high quality client acquisition. The role has primary ownership of key routes to market, including third party referrals and client acquisition initiatives, and acts as a Squad Lead for Client Acquisition within an agile, cross functional model. 1) Client Acquisition Channels & Routes to Market Lead and own the end to end process for inbound Wealth Management enquiries, including website enquiries, digital acquisition programmes and the employee referral scheme. Ensure inbound enquiries are appropriately monitored, triaged and allocated. Track quality, conversion and commercial impact of inbound opportunities. Continuously improve inbound acquisition processes to support Gross New Business targets. 2) Third Party Referral Strategy Own third party referrals as a strategic route to market supporting GNB targets. Develop and manage relationships with lawyers, accountants, consultants and Lloyds Banking Group. Work with advisers and regional teams to improve referral quality, conversion and longevity. Ensure consistent Salesforce tracking and engagement discipline. 3) Leadership & Collaboration within Business Development and Marketing Act as a leader within the Business Development team, supporting the Global Head of Business Development. Contribute to Business Development strategy, priorities and operating cadence. Promote collaboration across Business Development, Regions, Marketing and Data & MI. Role model Schroders values and a high performance culture. Line management responsibility for one or two Business Development Assistants. Lead the Client Acquisition squad within an agile delivery model. Coordinate cross functional activity across offline and online acquisition channels. Translate objectives into clear priorities, actions and outcomes. Track progress, unblock delivery and maintain focus on Gross New Business impact. 5) Performance, Values & Conduct Deliver positive client outcomes through disciplined execution. Act in line with Schroders culture, values and conduct expectations. Ensure activities comply with policies, procedures and FCA standards. Escalate conduct, risk or non financial misconduct concerns promptly. 6) Risk, Governance & Controls (Acquisition Activity) Ensure acquisition activity operates within agreed governance frameworks. Partner with Compliance, Risk and Legal to ensure safe prospect outreach. Key outcomes & measures of success Improved quality and conversion of inbound Wealth Management enquiries. Growth in high quality third party referrals. Effective leadership of the Client Acquisition squad. Strong cross functional collaboration and values alignment.
