Senior Software Engineer, Payments & Incentives
Quantcast
At Quantcast, we don't just build advertising technology, we revolutionize how it works. Our AI-powered Demand Side Platform (DSP) connects the world's most ambitious marketers with their ideal audiences across the open internet, delivering results that actually move the needle. Since 2006, we've been the industry's trailblazer, launching the first AI-powered measurement platform for publishers and the first AI-driven DSP. Our AI doesn't just optimize-it delivers the measurable outcomes that matter most to our clients, giving them the competitive edge they need in a crowded marketplace. Ready to join the team that's defining the future of digital advertising? We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Payments & Incentives team. The team acts as the financial engine of Quantcast, managing the intersection of complex ad-tech data and precise fintech requirements. The team is responsible for building frictionless payment solutions for our users, operating incentive programs to increase customer retention, and managing internal systems that power the billing pipelines. Operating across multiple functional areas, the team bridges engineering with customer experience, support, and essential back-office functions such as finance and revenue operations. You will be at the forefront of innovating solutions that integrate efficient payment, billing, and reward programs directly into our high-scale next generation advertising platform, focusing on making digital advertising campaigns as simple as possible for our customers. Our infrastructure handles diverse use cases, from real-time fee breakdowns for campaign forecasting and bidding to unified billing workflows that synchronize across application databases, Snowflake and NetSuite. We are currently refactoring these mission-critical pipelines to consolidate billing logic, which will enhance invoice visibility and traceability for revenue operations. These mission-critical systems enable global brands to scale their business with us. What you'll do: Drive engineering initiatives for unified financial reporting and process consolidation, ensuring systems are reliable, monitored, and successfully adopted. Lead the design and implementation of robust microservices and APIs to handle payments, incentives, and billing processes. Continually engage with internal customers, product owners and business stakeholders to understand and resolve cross-team dependencies and end-user requirements. Support the professional development of your peers and junior members through constructive feedback on code, system design and engineering processes. Manage the resolution of complex on-call incidents, implementing measures to improve long-term system health and financial integrity. You might be a great fit for this role if you: Focus on outcomes: You don't claim victory at code completion; you measure success by positive business results and customer adoption. Operate with autonomy: You are comfortable taking high-level priorities and turning them into actionable, well-defined technical roadmaps without constant supervision. Bridge the gap: You enjoy deeply understanding the end-customer use case and translating those requirements into robust technical solutions. Advocate for excellence: You have a passion for mentoring others and are dedicated to maintaining high standards for code quality and operational reliability. Who you are: You have at least 2 years of experience building and maintaining complex distributed systems, with a focus on microservices and adjacent technologies. Experience working vertically across the stack is a significant plus. You have a degree in Computer Science or an adjacent field (or equivalent nontraditional training). You are proficient in Go & Python or a similar modern language, or can demonstrate the ability to pick it up relatively speedily. You have experience designing and implementing APIs and microservices in a high-velocity production environment. You possess a deep understanding of observability and the full software development life cycle (SDLC) in an Agile environment. You can effectively distill complex technical updates into clear, actionable information for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You excel at working across team boundaries and with third parties to untangle dependencies and move projects forward. Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS), messaging systems (Kafka, SQS), or data warehouse tools (Snowflake) is a significant plus. At Quantcast, we craft offers that reflect your unique skills, expertise, and geographic location. On top of a competitive salary, this position includes a performance bonus, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package. For more details, visit our Careers Page and see how we support our team. We are headquartered in San Francisco with offices around the world. Quantcast is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Please see the Applicant Privacy Notice for details on our applicant privacy policy. Join the team that unlocks potential.

Attributes We Value We hire successful builders with founder like energy who want real impact, accelerated learning, and true ownership. You bring strong role related expertise and sharp thinking, and you're motivated by our mission and operating principles. Here, you'll tackle complex, high visibility problems with exceptional teammates and grow your career as we build the future of global banking. If that sounds like you, let's build what's next. About the team The Merchant Services team partners with our clients to realise their full potential through the adoption of Airwallex products that drive their growth and success. We influence revenue growth across our Spend and issuing portfolio and collaborate with sales, strategy, product, and engineering teams to provide the best experience for our most valued customers. We are committed to empowering businesses with the tools they need to run high performing, compliant, and scalable spend programmes across EMEA. What you'll do As a Solutions Engineer in our Spend Team, you will own the end to end delivery of complex Spend and corporate card implementations that bring our global spend management products to life for enterprise and high growth customers across EMEA. Create and maintain internal documentation, playbooks, and lightweight tooling that make it easier for the wider team to support integration heavy use cases at scale. Channel customer pain points and integration feedback into Product and Engineering, influencing the roadmap and prioritisation of features that materially improve implementation outcomes. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. Business, Finance, Engineering, Information Systems) or equivalent practical experience. 5+ years of experience in implementation, onboarding, customer success, or project/program management, managing complex, multi stakeholder technology or financial services implementations. 4+ years of client facing delivery or professional services experience in a high paced environment (e.g. SaaS, fintech, consulting, systems integration, enterprise implementation). Proven track record of successfully delivering cross functional projects with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and job functions, including C level executives, technical teams, and operations. Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills, including the ability to lead steering meetings, write clear status updates, and influence decisions without direct authority. If you're ready to do the most ambitious work of your career, join us. Attributes We Value We hire successful builders with founder like energy who want real impact, accelerated learning, and true ownership. You bring strong role related expertise and sharp thinking, and you're motivated by our mission and operating principles. You move fast with good judgment, dig deep with curiosity, and make decisions from first principles, balancing speed and rigor. You're humble and collaborative; turn zero to one ideas into real products, and you "get stuff done" end to end. You use AI to work smarter and solve problems faster. Within Merchant Services, our Spend and card implementation specialists sit at the heart of how customers design, launch, and scale their global spend programmes on Airwallex. We influence revenue growth across our Spend and issuing portfolio and collaborate with sales, strategy, product, and engineering teams to provide the best experience for our most valued customers. Our team works alongside commercial teams throughout the pre sales, solution design, and integration stages, then owns the orchestration from contract signature through go live and early adoption. You will turn agreed business requirements and solution designs into actionable implementation plans, orchestrating cross functional teams and external stakeholders to deliver on time, on scope, and to a high quality bar. You'll sit at the intersection of Sales, Merchant Services, Solutions Engineering, Product, Operations, Risk and external partners (e.g. networks, processors, manufacturers), ensuring that every phase from pre sale through go live and early spend activation runs smoothly. This role is based in London (3 days in office), with implementation coverage across EMEA. Responsibilities: Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers and internal teams on high value implementations and expansions, shaping integration approaches, system configuration, and overall solution design. Partner with activation / onboarding and account management teams to translate customer requirements into scalable architectures, particularly where ERP, HRIS, and API integrations are core to the rollout. Work with sales teams on technical discovery to understand customer systems, data flows, and workflows, and recommend a best fit integration blueprint, including when and how to leverage APIs and third party connectors. Work hands on with customers to troubleshoot integration hurdles and guide them through complex configuration decisions, focusing on designing robust, maintainable implementations rather than writing code directly. Serve as a subject matter expert on the broader integration ecosystem (e.g. HRIS and accounting partners), collaborating with Sales, Product, and partners to close gaps and improve integration coverage. Who you are We're looking for people who meet the minimum requirements for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory. Experience delivering ERP, accounting system, or expense platforms (e.g. Netsuite, SAP, Oracle, Xero) implementations and the associated data flows (GL, cost centres, entities, card feeds). Preferred qualifications: Hands on experience working with or alongside integration engineers, solution architects, or technical program managers on API based integrations, including familiarity with common web, SSO, and ERP integration concepts. Formal training or certification in project management or agile delivery (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum Master), and comfort setting up operating rhythms such as stand ups, steering committees, and executive readouts. Experience managing strategic or enterprise accounts as part of a broader account team, including navigating commercial sensitivities while protecting delivery quality and scope. Ability to thrive in a fast moving, ambiguous environment, balancing structured methodologies with pragmatic decision making to keep complex projects moving forward. Equal opportunity Airwallex is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We value diversity and anyone seeking employment at Airwallex is considered based on merit, qualifications, competence and talent.
