Job Description

1st-2nd Line Support / Service Desk Technician required for a 3 month contract (likely to extend) based in Southampton, Hampshire. Working for a well-established Public Sector organisation, you will be responsible for the provision of professional, effective and customer focused first line IT support to computer users by telephone and email. You will conduct thorough analysis and fault-finding of a wide range of technical I.T. issues, including, but not limited to system/user errors, data errors, software problems. You will undertake general trouble-shooting and escalate more complicated IT queries up to the 2nd line team. For this role you need to have previous experience of working within a Service Desk / Helpdesk environment providing remote IT support to end users at 1st line level. You need to have the ability to communicate technical issues effectively to technical and non-technical staff and ideally have an IT qualification such as CompTiA, A-level, Degree or equivalent. Any ITIL experience or similar will be highly beneficial. you will also be required to provide 2nd line computer support to all users Using Windows 2008 R2 Server, Active Directory, DNS, Windows 8, Windows 7 Win XP. This role is to start ASAP and will pay between £9 - £11 + HP PAYE or £11 - £13.50 ltd/umbrella per hour depending on your level of experience
