Service Architect

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Service Architect to work within Central Government on a contract basis. The position will be based in Bristol for an initial contract until March 2017 offering up to a maximum of £500 per day LTD company. Key Tasks: Support the SEO and head of function in the development and delivery of roadmaps for physical and logical solutions within the Common Application Function framework Understand and contribute to reference architectures and patterns and socialise these throughout the Agency Produce solutions architecture artefacts such as Solutions Architecture Blueprints, Solutions Options Papers, Architectural Patterns, Interface Specifications and Impact Assessments Ensure that applications fit DVSAs business strategies and deliver benefits outline in the business case Support the SEO in ensuring that applications portfolio evolves appropriately Use appropriate resources (such as Gartner) to ensure that there is a chain of evidence to support solution recommendations Input into the Architecture Roadmap and its maintenance Make an active contribution to ensuring that value is sought and achie Take responsibility for yourself and your deliverables seek out the work and engagement that needs to take place to ensure successful development of the DVSA IT estate Create and maintain good relationships with Business Relationships Managers, Business Analysts, Service Managers, Information Assurance and Product Owners to enable Solutions Architecture to have the engagement and influence that it needs across the business Ensure that on a practical solutions level other elements of the architecture team are well informed engaged and represented in Solutions Architecture Design and Options Selection (e.g. Data Architects, Information Assurance, Security Architects and Infrastructure / Common Service Architects Obtain stakeholder buy-in for solutions and initiatives Work with the software architect from the Digital team to ensure that patterns and standards are upheld Deliver architectural governance across Digital For any queries please contact Jennifer Barrett on either 01223311778 or
