Infrastructure Engineer (Office 365/Azure)

Are you an experienced engineer with project implementation experience based on clould technologies using MS Office 365 and Azure? In short my client are moving to cloud based tecnolgies and with this currently have a number of major projects. Part of your job will be to take their current email systems and move them across to Office 365, take their current QA Testing systems and move them to Azure. Once this is complete other projects will come thick and fast, relying heavlily on your skills focused around Office 365 and Azure. Day to day duties will involve BAU, Roadmaps, monitioting and support. Description: As part of a 3rd line infrastructure support/project implementation team this role will involve configuring, managing, monitoring and supporting VMWare hypervisor, NetApp storage and HP compute and Microsoft Cloud technologies. This role will be reporting into the IT Infrastructure Team Leader. For this role, a background in supporting Microsoft Server environments and enterprise software is required; for example, Microsoft Server O/S, Exchange, SharePoint, Active Directory, SCCM, and MDT. Azure and Office 365 implementation experience would be beneficial. Experience of working as part of a project implementation team is also an advantage. What are my main activities: • Ensure the server estate is available 100% of the time, excluding planned outages • Undertake a successful DR test is carried out annually • Ensure the estate is resilient and is running as efficiently as possible • Make roadmap recommendations as to improvements in the infrastructure • Diligently carry out and report on capacity • Lead the business in terms of networking and new technologies • Occasional visits to key sites will be required to investigate/improve the store infrastructure • Occasional requirement to be available for out of hours on-call Qualifications: • SCCM & MDT • Azure AD, Azure IAAS and Office 365 implementation experience • Microsoft Windows Server and Enterprise Software support experience • Microsoft Server 2003/2008/2012 O/S • Exchange 2010/2013 (hybrid Exchange environments would be an advantage) • SharePoint 2007/2010/2013 Nice to have • VMWare vSphere v5.1 and above implementation and management experience (v6 experience would be an advantage) • VMWare application resilience, capacity management, upgrades, performance monitoring and tuning • HP Server Hardware (ProLiant DL and Blade server) implementation and support • Active Directory & Group Policy Management • Extensive PowerShell scripting capability • ITIL Foundation V3 • VMWare VCP and Microsoft MCP as a minimum • Experience of supporting Enterprise grade SAN storage (e.g. HP, EMC, NetApp)
