PHP Developer - Digital Agency - Swindon - Up to £40k

My client is an ambitious, creative-led marketing communications agency. They are based in Swindon, which is ranked the second coolest city in the world after San Francisco (ok, that's a massive lie… literally no one thinks that). You will be joining a digital team that works on creative digital solutions for a range of clients. You will be responsible for PHP website and application development, such as WordPress, Drupal, Prestashop, Magento (which can all be taught on the job!) as well as participating in Back-End development tasks and providing services in the full software development life cycle, from concept, design to testing. My client is looking specifically for a Developer who can manage back-end services and the interchange of data between the server and the users. Responsibilities: * Work with the web designers to provide technical solutions to design problems * Server management - operating and auditing our server environments * Work with the account managers to deliver accurate project timescales * Develop all server-side logic and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end * Integrate the front-end elements built by your co-workers into the application * Develop structured and commented code, while adhering to best practices * Solve complex performance problems and architectural challenges * Integration of data storage solutions {{may include databases, key-value stores, blob stores, etc.}} Skills And Expertise * Strong PHP experience, in a fast-paced environment, preferably in an Apple environment * Strong knowledge of PHP web frameworks (ideally Laravel, Yii, etc depending on your technology stack) * Experience in Front-End skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, SASS, responsive web design, JSON, XML). * Knowledge of Web services such as SOAP and RESTful * Experience in version control and continuous integration systems * Practical solutions using MVC design patterns To take advantage of this unique opportunity, please do get in touch!
