Job Description

Employment Type: Initial 6 month contract

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP Senior Technical Architect to lead the technical design and architecture of our enterprise SAP landscape. In this role, you will be responsible for defining the end-to-end technical strategy, overseeing multi-phase SAP S/4HANA deployment projects, and driving innovation through the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
As a key technical leader, you will bridge the gap between business requirements and scalable technology solutions, ensuring optimal system performance, security, high availability, and adherence to SAP best practices (including Clean Core principles).

Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Technical Leadership
Serve as the principal technical authority for end-to-end SAP solution architecture across global deployment initiatives.
Design, govern, and maintain the architecture landscape for a complex SAP S/4HANA implementation (Greenfield).
Champion the SAP Clean Core strategy, driving extensibility and custom logic through standard, side-by-side configurations via SAP BTP rather than core modifications.
Define technical standards, governance frameworks, and security paradigms across all SAP applications and boundary systems.
Collaborate with functional leads, infrastructure teams, basis engineering, and third-party implementation partners to ensure seamless deployment, technical readiness, and operational stability.
SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) & Integration
Architect and implement cloud-native and hybrid integration scenarios leveraging the full suite of SAP BTP capabilities:
o Integration Suite: Support on best practices for robust API-first integrations, Cloud Integration (CPI), Event Mesh, and API Management across SAP and non-SAP ecosystems.
o Extension Suite & Application Development: Drive side-by-side extensibilities using ABAP Cloud, CAP (Cloud Application Programming model), RAP (RESTful Application Programming model), and SAP Build (App Builder, Process Automation).
o Data & Analytics: Oversee integration strategies involving SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), and HANA Cloud.
o AI & Automation: Identify opportunities to embed SAP AI Services and automation into business processes.

Required Qualifications & Experience
Experience: 10+ years of SAP technical architecture experience, including direct leadership in multiple full-life cycle S/4HANA deployments.
S/4HANA Mastery: Deep technical knowledge of S/4HANA architecture (Private Cloud and Public Cloud), Basis management, HANA DB architecture, and release upgrade strategies.
SAP BTP Expertise: Proven hands-on and architectural proficiency with the SAP Business Technology Platform, including Integration Suite, Extension Suite, Datasphere, and SAP Build.
Integration Patterns: Expert-level understanding of REST, OData, SOAP, IDocs, RFCs, Webhooks, and Event-Driven Architecture (EDA).
Development Background: Deep background in ABAP, ABAP for HANA, ABAP Cloud, CDS Views, and modern development frameworks (CAP/RAP, Node.js, or Java).
Cloud Platforms: Hands-on experience deploying and running SAP workloads on major hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Preferred Certifications
SAP Certified Associate/Specialist - SAP BTP Architecture
SAP Certified Enterprise Architect/Technology Architect
Hyperscaler Cloud Architect Certification (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, etc.)

Key Competencies
Strategic Thinking: Ability to translate enterprise business strategy into scalable technical solutions.
Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to executive leaders, business partners, and technical delivery teams.
Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills to diagnose complex infrastructure, performance, and integration bottlenecks.
Architectural Design & Vision: Expert ability to translate complex functional and technical requirements into scalable, resilient, and future-proof enterprise architectures, balancing clean core principles with innovative side-by-side extensibility.
