NOC Engineer

Forget what you think you know about NOC work. This role sits within an organisation driven by engineers, where platform stability, automation and ongoing refinement guide everything we do. Your focus won't just be fixing things when they break. You'll be finding the weak spots before they cause problems, streamlining day-to-day operations through automation, and playing a real part in how our cloud services evolve.

Your responsibilities

• Keeping a close eye on business-critical AWS production environments and ensuring they stay up and performing well
• Taking ownership of live incidents within a round-the-clock service and seeing them through to resolution
• Digging into difficult technical problems and getting services back online with speed and precision
• Writing automation that removes repetitive manual work and makes the platform more robust
• Enhancing the monitoring, alerting and observability tooling used across our cloud estate
• Partnering with software, platform, cloud and security teams to raise the bar on reliability and operational standards
• Taking part in incident retrospectives and turning lessons learned into lasting improvements
• Looking after containerised applications running on Terraform and Docker

What you'll bring

Ideally, you'll come from a background in production engineering, cloud operations or a network operations centre, with hands-on experience in some or all of the following:

• Administering Linux systems
• Working with AWS infrastructure
• Running workloads on Terraform and Docker
• Supporting live production systems and handling incidents
• Scripting in Python, Bash or Go
• Using observability and monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk or CloudWatch
• A solid grasp of core networking concepts, including DNS, TCP/IP and load balancing
• A genuine drive to automate, improve and deliver operational excellence
