Senior Business Development Manager

Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Manager to work across its Banking & Financial Services practice on a permanent basis.

Our client is a highly regarded international law firm with an extensive global presence and a strong reputation across major commercial and financial markets.

The firm advises leading financial institutions, corporates and investors on complex domestic and international matters and has established practices spanning Banking, Capital Markets, Restructuring and wider transactional and advisory work.

The Opportunity

This is a senior and highly visible Business Development position, working closely with Partners and practice leadership across the firm's Banking & Financial Services group.

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the commercial direction of the practice, identifying opportunities for growth, strengthening strategic client relationships and coordinating Business Development activity across Banking, Capital Markets and Restructuring.

Key responsibilities include:

• Partnering with senior stakeholders to develop and deliver Business Development plans across the Banking & Financial Services practice
• Advising Partners on client development, market opportunities, positioning and commercial priorities
• Leading strategic pitches, major pursuits and panel appointments
• Managing the practice's pipeline and supporting Partners with target client and key account planning
• Developing initiatives designed to deepen relationships with priority clients
• Identifying market trends, regulatory developments and emerging client needs that can support new business activity
• Creating and delivering targeted Business Development and marketing campaigns
• Supporting thought leadership, client events, roundtables, webinars and other profile-raising initiatives
• Overseeing legal directory submissions, awards activity and broader practice positioning
• Working closely with Communications, Marketing and wider Business Development colleagues
• Monitoring Business Development performance, budgets, activity and relevant KPIs
• Using CRM data, client intelligence and market insight to support commercial decision-making
• Leading, mentoring and developing Business Development professionals supporting the practice
• Driving improvements to Business Development processes, systems and ways of working

This Senior Business Development Manager position is a permanent London-based role offering hybrid working.

Requirements

• At Least 5 years Business Development experience gained within a law firm or wider professional services environment
