Job Description

Job title - Systems Engineer

Duration - 12months initial contract

Start date - Asap (subject to clearance)

Shift patterns - 5days fully onsite during 12weeks probabation. Then 3days in the office per week.

Pay rate - £40ph-£55ph Inside IR35 (can consider outside IR35)

Location - Twyford, Winchester

Role information

This is a mechanical biased role therefore applicants with mechanical discipline will be considered. To provide systems engineering expertise and leadership in the development and delivery of multi-disciplinary engineering projects. The Senior Systems Engineer will support the Principal Systems Engineer, Technical Manager or Engineering Managers in the execution of systems engineering activities across the full lifecycle - from requirements capture and architecture definition through integration, verification, validation, and commissioning.

Daily you will work collaboratively with engineering and project teams to ensure that technical solutions meet customer, regulatory, and quality requirements. The role includes mentoring junior engineers, supporting technical bids, and contributing to the continuous improvement of systems engineering practices across the company.

Applicants must have experience of the following:

  • Support and lead the definition, documentation, and delivery of systems engineering activities across the full lifecycle (concept, design, integration, V&V, commissioning).
  • Capture, analyse, and manage system and stakeholder requirements, ensuring full traceability through to verification evidence.
  • Develop and manage system architectures, functional models, and interface definitions.
  • Lead integration activities between all engineering functions including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, control and software systems.
  • Define and implement verification and validation strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Support the development of safety case input, hazard analyses, and risk assessments.
  • Interface with subcontractors and suppliers to manage technical deliverables and ensure compliance with system requirements.
  • Ensure system configurations, interfaces, and baselines are controlled through established configuration management and change control processes.
  • Conduct technical reviews, peer reviews, and design assurance activities within own area of expertise.
  • Support technical bids, proposals, and cost/schedule estimates related to systems engineering.
  • HNC in relevant qualifications
