Senior UX Design Program Manager - JP Morgan - London - 6 months contract - Onsite - PAYE

Role Overview:
We are seeking a Senior UX Design Program Manager to join JP Morgan on an initial 6-month contract in London. Leveraging your expertise in design, program management, and digital product development, you will act as a strategic partner to the Head of Design and their leadership team, driving operational excellence, aligning design initiatives with business objectives, and enabling continuous improvements in ways of working to accelerate impact.

You will stay at the forefront of emerging technologies and methodologies, including AI, identifying opportunities to enhance design operations, improve efficiency, and accelerate delivery. Working closely with cross-functional partners across Design, Product, and Technology, you will leverage tools, processes, and best practices to translate design deliverables into measurable business outcomes.

As a strong communicator and collaborator, you will reinforce the value of design as a strategic business driver, using data-driven insights to foster alignment across teams, optimize delivery, and enhance the client experience across the Corporate & Investment Bank's products and services.

Job responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and delivery of design programmes and portfolios, aligning priorities, resources, budgets, and timelines with business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain the Design Operating Model, including processes, governance, standards, best practices, and reporting.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships, using data and insights to identify opportunities, improve decision-making, and demonstrate design's business impact.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration, agile delivery, and continuous improvement by optimising workflows, tools, and team productivity.
  • Champion innovation by introducing AI, automation, and emerging technologies to improve design operations and delivery at scale.
  • Monitor programme performance, resource utilisation, financials, and risks, facilitating retrospectives, workshops, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience creating and implementing effective operating models that drive measurable business efficiency and productivity.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership to elevate the perceived value of UX as a critical business driver. A confident facilitator, communicator, and cross-connector of people, information, and ideas.
  • Experience in Design Program Management, User Experience Design, Design Operations, Product Delivery, or Operations role dedicated to improving design delivery within a cross-functional, cross-location, agile product delivery environment.
  • Experience navigating complex Matrix organizations, anticipating and resolving blockers, and influencing at all levels.
  • Knowledge of the end-to-end product design process, design and delivery workflows, design systems, tools (Figma, Jira, Confluence), and agile delivery methods. Strong technical acumen with the ability to evaluate and integrate new technologies, including AI-assisted design tools, into design operations and workflows.
  • A growth mindset with enthusiasm for scaling design delivery and enabling data-driven decision-making through innovation, experimentation, and design thinking.
