Senior Data Backend Engineer (Graph, Knowledge Systems)

What You'll Do

• Build Graph Databases: Design and construct Neo4j database schemas, translating target ontologies into concrete node/relationship structures.
• Develop Ingestion Pipelines: Create and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from diverse source systems.
• Optimize Queries: Write and tune Cypher queries for data loading, transformations, and ultra-fast application-facing retrieval.
• Expose APIs: Build integration layers and APIs to serve graph data to downstream consumers, including AI chatbots.
• Automate & Scale: Automate data refresh processes, support Neo4j scaling, indexing, and performance tuning, and implement ontology changes as code alongside the Architect.
• Maintain Quality & Lineage: Troubleshoot data integrity issues with Quality Engineers and document graph schemas and data lineage.

What We're Looking For

• Hands-on experience with Neo4j, Cypher query optimization, and graph modelling.
• Strong pipeline development skills using modern ETL/ELT frameworks and automated data synchronization techniques.
• Experience integrating graph data with external microservices, APIs, and AI/chatbot interfaces.
