Based in Bristol, they specialise in designing and installing a comprehensive range of security systems for both commercial and industrial applications.

Job Description

As an apprentice small works engineer, you would work on Installing, upgrading, and modifying fire and security systems. This includes adding new devices, replacing existing equipment, expanding existing systems, and carrying out small installation projects.

As an apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced engineers to install, maintain and fault-find on the following systems:

  • Access Control

  • Video Surveillance

  • Intruder Alarms

  • Fire Alarms

  • Perimeter Security Systems

  • Remote Monitoring

  • Testing and Maintenance

Please be aware - the apprenticeship launch date is November 2026, the job itself would start 2-3 weeks prior to the apprenticeship launch.

Entry Requirements
  • Mustbe 18+ due to certain site requirements, please only apply if you are 18 or older

  • Musthold a valid UK driving license due to travel requirements of the role

  • Basic practical electric or engineering skills would be a bonus

  • A solid understanding of basic IT

  • Reliable, good time keeping and an effective team player

  • Work/site based experience would be highly desirable

  • Maths and English at Grade 4 GCSE (or equivalent)

Training to be Provided

This is where you'll learn the skills that employers actually want.

Your apprenticeship training is delivered by Skills for Security, specialists in fire and security training.

You'll train through block release at our Watford centre, for one week every eight weeks (Tuesday-Friday).

You'll work towards a Level 3 Fire, Emergency & Security Systems Technician apprenticeship, gaining real skills and a nationally recognised qualification.
