We're working with a growing Managed Service Provider that specialises in delivering IT support to schools across the UK. Due to continued growth, they're looking for a 2nd Line Support Engineer to become the primary onsite IT presence at a secondary school in Wembley.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience supporting UK secondary schools who enjoys combining technical problem-solving with providing first-class support to teachers, staff and students.

The Role

You'll be responsible for delivering day-to-day IT support across a busy dual-campus secondary school, acting as the main onsite engineer while receiving remote support from the wider MSP team when required.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 2nd line support to staff and students
  • Managing incidents, service requests and technical issues
  • Supporting Microsoft 365 and Windows environments
  • Administering Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Managing devices using Intune and/or JAMF
  • Supporting Windows Server and Hyper-V environments
  • Troubleshooting networking issues including VLANs, Wi Fi and firewalls
  • Supporting Chromebooks, Apple devices and Windows desktops
  • Maintaining school technology including smartboards and AV equipment
  • Working with school systems such as MIS and Edulink
  • Keeping documentation and tickets up to date
  • Building strong relationships with teaching staff and school leadership
Essential Skills and Experience

We're looking for someone with:

  • A minimum of 3 years' IT support experience within a UK secondary school (this is essential)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration
  • Experience supporting Windows Desktop and Windows Server
  • Active Directory and Group Policy administration
  • Experience with Intune and/or JAMF
  • Excellent troubleshooting and customer service skills
  • Strong communication skills and confidence supporting non-technical users
  • Experience working with school technologies including MIS, Edulink, smartboards and AV equipment
  • Eligibility to obtain an Enhanced DBS
Desirable Skills

Experience with any of the following would be beneficial:

  • Networking including VLANs and managed Wi Fi
  • Firewall administration
  • Chromebook management
  • Apple device management
