Senior Delivery Manager

We're looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Delivery Manager to join our Client Services Delivery Team. The Senior Delivery Manager will be accountable for the effective delivery of complex projects within their portfolio, ensuring projects meet client expectations and contribute to the commercial success of the organisation.

Senior Delivery Managers are the backbone that support the project teams we work with. They are decisive, action-oriented individuals who help their teams prioritise the right work at the right time. Senior Delivery Managers drive pace within their project teams, often aligning to complex policy and programme deadlines in a fast-paced environment. They work hard to ensure teams are clear on goals, their individual roles, and communicate their work to stakeholders. Senior Delivery Managers will hold responsibility for budgets, margins, and risks affiliated with their projects and programmes. Senior Delivery Managers are very comfortable with time management and prioritisation of their own work, sometimes managing multiple projects and teams simultaneously.

Senior Delivery Managers are experienced in establishing and maintaining agile ways of working in teams and organisations, and can work effectively with all roles found in a multidisciplinary team. They are comfortable leading technical and design-focused projects, and balance the need to deliver at pace with the importance of meeting user needs. Senior Delivery Managers can work across the entire product lifecycle from discovery to alpha, and from private and public beta to live, and recognise that projects and teams may require different support based on those phases

Senior Delivery Managers will hold line management responsibilities for more junior members of staff, usually Delivery Managers and Business Analysts. They also will mentor and coach members of their project teams, regardless of their roles. Senior Delivery Managers will be active contributors to the Delivery Community of Practice at TPXimpact, where the delivery team share approaches, collectively address problems, and discuss best practices.

Senior Delivery Managers will also contribute to the growth of accounts, identifying possible opportunities for onsell and upsell. They will contribute to writing bids, pitching for new work, look for ways to highlight TPXimpact's ability to deliver effectively, and contribute to long-term strategy of the organisations we work with.

• Budget: Responsible for managing project budgets for their projects and escalating where appropriate and in line with our project guidance.
• Headcount: Leading multidisciplinary delivery teams on medium sized to larger project work.
• Resource complexity and nature of work teams: Overseeing project teams including internal staff and external associates.
• Problem solving responsibility and complexity: Overcoming project obstacles and ensuring successful delivery.
• Change management requirements: Implementing continuous improvement initiatives and agile methodologies.
• Internal / External interactions: Regular engagement with client stakeholders and internal teams.
• Strategic timeframe: Managing projects with a continuous improvement approach ensuring solutions are sustainable over the long term

Responsibilities

• Accountable for the successful delivery of complex projects, managing client expectations while ensuring commercial success.
• Build and maintain multidisciplinary delivery teams, ensuring they are motivated, collaborating, and working well together.
• Assist in the management of client accounts, identifying opportunities to grow revenues through project extensions or new opportunities.
• Support the professional development and continuous improvement of mid-weight delivery managers.
• Actively participate and support the development of a high-functioning Delivery Community of Practice.
• Engage and communicate effectively with client stakeholders.
• Consistently implement the defined delivery methodology to a high standard. Identify obstacles and help the delivery team to overcome them.
• Focus the project team on what is most important to the delivery of our products and services.
• Encourage and facilitate continuous improvement of our projects.
• Provide regular project and resource updates to Resource Managers and Heads of Delivery Management to plan and resource upcoming projects.
• Work effectively across multiple client projects and teams.
• Continuously maintain and update skills and knowledge to stay current within your relevant field of expertise

Essential

• Demonstrable experience in project management or delivery management roles.
• Strong understanding of agile and lean practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging client stakeholders.
• Experience in financial management and budget setting in project environments.
• Ability to manage multiple parts of the product life cycle.

Desirable

• An understanding of the GDS Service Standards and DDaT Framework
• Experience working with different levels of government and sectors like planning, health, and utilities
