Job Description

Main duties of the job

Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Medical Devices Team, undertaking a wide range of administrative tasks including serving as the focal point of contact for HCT staff regarding the servicing and repair of medical equipment.

Qualifications
  • Educated to GCSE standard or higher.
  • Educated to BTEC ONC level or higher in a technical subject.
Experience
  • Significant administration experience in a similar role.
  • Previous working experience and knowledge of database management.
  • Experience coordinating maintenance and repairs for disparate teams.
  • Understanding of the role played by medical devices in the delivery of safe patient care.
  • Knowledge and experience of types of medical devices used within community health services.
  • Arranging meetings and taking notes of meetings.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to manage complex issues, research, investigate and challenge information.
  • Strong communication with clinical teams at all levels.
  • Ability to communicate with external contractors.
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and databases).
  • Problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with attention to detail and good telephone manner.
  • Well developed influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Ability to work to agreed levels of standard and output.

Other Requirements
  • Must have access to a car for business use to drive across sites unless exempt under disability arrangements of the DDA.
Compensation and benefits

Staff recruited from outside the NHS are usually appointed at the bottom of the pay band. All new appointments (excluding Medical & Dental roles) are subject to a 26 week probation period.
