Job Description

Trainee Air Tightness Test Engineer (Woking & surrounding areas)

Salary range: £26,000 to £26,000 per annum, depending on experience

Overview

AES Compliance & Testing Ltd specialises in air tightness testing for new build, also offering sound insulation testing, ventilation testing, and thermography surveys across residential and commercial properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Travel to construction sites and existing buildings, carrying out air tightness tests on a range of building types and sizes in accordance with building regulations to help clients achieve compliance with Part L
  • Actively engage with clients to ensure sites are ready for testing
  • Manage workload effectively and focus on assigned tasks
  • Identify air leakage paths and notify site personnel
  • Complete accurate air tightness tests to the relevant test standard and upload results in a timely manner
  • Maintain company equipment, including the company van
  • Display a professional attitude and communicate clearly with colleagues and clients
  • Be an active team member, contributing ideas and sharing knowledge
  • Take a proactive approach to learning and development
  • Drive long distances and travel to sites, including overnight stays when required
  • Perform physical work such as moving test equipment around a site
  • Communicate with clients effectively via telephone, email, and face to face
  • Use computers efficiently and possess a good level of general education, particularly in Maths and English
  • Calculate envelope areas of properties on site
  • Self manage a busy, time critical schedule, adapting to short notice changes
  • Work independently and as part of a team
  • Adhere to health and safety requirements
Qualifications
  1. No previous air tightness testing experience required - full training provided
  2. Hold a full/clean driving licence
  3. Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
  4. Good communication and interpersonal skills
  5. Attention to detail and organisational skills
  6. Strong work ethic and motivation to learn
