About the Role
As a Project Manager you will successfully plan, coordinate and deliver engineering and consultancy projects, typically up to £2M in value. Responsibilities include managing project scope, programme, risks, resources, information flow and financial performance while supporting client satisfaction and technical excellence. You will work under the direction of a Senior Project Manager or Project Principal, coordinate project teams and ensure delivery aligns with contractual requirements, project objectives and HDR quality management processes.
About You
We are seeking someone with strong organisational, communication (written and verbal) and stakeholder management skills, who can coordinate across disciplines and manage competing priorities in a delivery environment. You should be comfortable supporting meeting management (actions/decisions) and information control, while maintaining a positive, professional attitude and collaborating effectively with a diverse team.
Responsibilities
- Lead the day to day management and delivery of projects, typically up to £2M in value.
- Develop and maintain project execution plans, schedules and resource plans.
- Coordinate project teams to achieve project objectives.
- Ensure project deliverables are completed on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
- Monitor progress against programme and implement corrective actions where required.
- Direct and coordinate work of single or multidisciplinary teams throughout the project's lifecycle.
- Be responsible for any project assignment regardless of size, visibility, number of disciplines, technical complexity or number of staff.
- Develop and maintain clear project scopes, assumptions and deliverables.
- Facilitate project risk identification and assessment.
- Monitor project budgets, resource utilisation and forecasts.
- Establish client relations and participate in marketing, contractual, design and production meetings.
- Ensure compliance with HDR Integrated Management Systems and project procedures, and implement QA/QC procedures.
- Provide leadership and direction to project delivery teams including Associate Directors, Associates, Senior Consultants, Consultants and Graduates.
- Manage project closeout activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of related experience; minimum 2 years of project management experience.
- Experience working within a consultancy is essential.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng), Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) or equivalent, or working toward chartered status.
