MintNeuro is an innovative startup at the intersection of neurotechnology and semiconductors. We are pioneering integrated circuit solutions for implantable medical devices targeting the management and treatment of neurological conditions. Our goal is to deliver scalable, less invasive, and highly efficient devices that transform neurological care.
Role
The primary responsibility of this role is to build software tools and platform capabilities around MintNeuro chips that streamline internal workflows and improve customer experience. The role will work closely with the product, application, and engineering teams to build an ecosystem around MintNeuro chips and to translate hardware capabilities into usable, reliable software solutions for both internal users and external customers.
Initially, the role will focus on developing software for MintNeuro's in-house hardware and evaluation platforms. This includes:
- Software for customers to use with MintNeuro evaluation kits, supporting product demonstrations and customer evaluation of MintNeuro chips.
- SDKs, APIs, and supporting tools to enable customer integration of MintNeuro chips into their own systems.
- Control, configuration, debug, and automation software to support internal testing, validation, and characterisation workflows.
The role is expected to contribute to the usability, documentation, maintainability, and overall quality of these software tools, ensuring they are robust, reusable, and suitable for both internal and customer-facing use.
As the product line grows, the role will help evolve these tools into a reusable software platform that accelerates the development of companion software for future products. Over time, this may also include developing more data-driven capabilities to collect product feedback, monitor system performance, and generate insights that improve product performance and customer experience.
Duties and responsibilities
- Develop customer-facing software for MintNeuro evaluation kits to support product demonstrations and customer evaluations.
- Develop and maintain SDKs, APIs, libraries, and software tools that enable customers to integrate MintNeuro chips into their own systems.
- Build control, configuration, debug, and automation software to support internal testing, validation, and characterisation workflows.
- Work closely with product, application, hardware, and engineering teams to define software requirements and translate hardware capabilities into practical software solutions.
- Contribute to the usability, maintainability, documentation, and overall quality of software delivered around MintNeuro hardware platforms.
- Support the development of reusable software components and workflows that can be adapted across multiple MintNeuro products.
- Assist with system-level troubleshooting, issue investigation, and continuous improvement based on internal testing, software logs, and customer feedback.
- Contribute to the longer-term development of software platform capabilities that improve internal efficiency and customer experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience in developing software for hardware-based products, laboratory instruments, embedded systems, or evaluation platforms.
- Experience in one or more programming languages relevant to the role, such as Python, C++, or C#.
- Experience working with embedded platforms or prototyping hardware, such as STM32, Raspberry Pi, or similar systems.
- Experience in developing user-facing software tools, internal engineering tools, or SDKs/APIs.
- Experience interfacing software with hardware through standard communication protocols such as SPI, I C, UART, USB, or Ethernet.
- Experience in debugging, testing, and maintaining software within a collaborative and well-documented engineering workflow.
- Experience in workflow automation, scripting, or engineering process automation.
- Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams, including product, hardware, applications, and test engineers.
- Good documentation skills and the ability to produce clear, maintainable, and user-friendly software.
- Awareness of usability and user experience considerations in technical software tools.
- Experience in developing software for semiconductor, neurotechnology, medical device, or scientific instrumentation products.
- Experience in GUI or application development for evaluation kits, engineering tools, or customer-facing software.
- Experience in designing SDKs, APIs, reusable software frameworks, or device communication protocols, including custom or proprietary protocols.
- Familiarity with cloud-connected software, telemetry, data visualisation, or data-driven product improvement workflows.
- Understanding of regulated or quality-controlled development environments.
