Job Description

We're looking for an experienced IT Project Manager to join us to work on projects in our Salesforce portfolio for a 12 month fixed term contract.

You'll be part of a project delivery team consisting of a variety of project-related roles, working within a large IT department with an extensive project portfolio. You'll work at pace to deliver business benefits through a variety of projects in our busy Salesforce portfolio, working with a wide range of people, both within IT and across the organisation, to deliver in support of our strategy. You'll also be working with the team that support our live operational Salesforce platform, owning delivery of specific technical projects for that team.

Hands on experience of agile development and Salesforce delivery would be beneficial in the role, as we continue to develop our Salesforce Centre of Excellence and move to more agile ways of working.

What it's like to work here

Our IT department juggles over 40-50 projects at any one time-everything from internal upgrades like refreshing our network across all sites, to major system changes. Our projects work in a matrix-style model, spanning across different IT teams and different areas of the organisation to deliver against our strategy. Our Salesforce platform is key to many of the priority projects.

You'll be part of the IT Project Management Community of Practice, where our IT PMs are always exploring ways to improve, streamline, and support each other. They are a genuinely supportive team, bringing together a wide mix of experience and specialist knowledge.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Head of IT Delivery, you'll lead and oversee projects of varying sizes and complexities, adhering to our Project Management Framework. You'll manage project teams, identify stakeholders, and ensure effective communication. You'll also be responsible for resource allocation, budget forecasting, risk management, and producing high-quality reports. Understanding the strategic role of projects in delivering our mission, you'll collaborate with the wider Project Management Team, contributing to a vibrant community of practice.

You'll need you to be creative, resourceful, have great initiative and be able to work with all kinds of people across the organisation. You'll also need to broker time from people within the organisation who are already busy to help you deliver the projects, so an ability to navigate large organisations and build great working relationships will be crucial.

Who we're looking for
  • Able todemonstrateexperience of successfully delivering complex end-to-endITproject/programme management, including defining resources, leading procurement securing project teams and matrix management across multiple projects/programmes.
  • AProfessional with technical knowledge and skills in project managementdemonstratedby a recognised project (AMP PMQ/Prince) or programme management (MSP) qualification.
  • Able toevidenceongoing CPD in your career to date.
  • You'rea flexible thinker and problem-solver, skilled at negotiating and building productive networks, and confident in using yourexpertiseto influence decisions with senior leaders.
  • Askilled communicator, with experience of managing complex and challenging situations with competing interests and a diverse range of people.
  • Aleader for inclusion, who finds ways to create an inclusive culture.
  • Proventrack recordmanaging full lifecycle IT projects and hands on experience of agile development delivery. Experience of Salesforce project delivery and an understanding of Salesforce capabilities would be valued, along with the ability to engage with technical teams and understand systems architecture, APIs, databases, and cloud platforms.
