CNC Miller - Setter / Programmer

Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire

Days Shift - Monday to Thursday 6:00am - 4:30pm

WF Tech is recruiting for an experienced CNC Miller Setter / Programmer on behalf of a well established, family run precision engineering company based in Melton Mowbray. The company specialises in the manufacture of high quality precision components and operates a modern machining facility, including Doosan, HAAS and DMG CNC milling machines.

The Role

As a CNC Miller, you will be responsible for setting, operating and programming CNC milling machines, producing high precision components from a range of materials.

  • Setting and operating Doosan, HAAS and DMG CNC milling machines
  • Programming and editing CNC programmes at the machine
  • Working from engineering drawings and 3D models
  • Using FeatureCAM CAD/CAM software to support programming and machining processes
  • Selecting tooling, setting work offsets and proving out new jobs
  • Producing low volume, high quality precision components
  • Carrying out in process inspection and maintaining tight tolerances
  • Supporting continuous improvement within the manufacturing environment
The Candidate

The ideal CNC Miller will have:

  • Strong experience setting and operating CNC milling machines
  • Experience with Doosan, HAAS or DMG machining centres would be highly advantageous
  • Knowledge of Fanuc or similar CNC controls
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
  • Experience working within a precision engineering or subcontract manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of tooling, speeds, feeds and machining strategies
  • Experience using CAD/CAM systems - FeatureCAM experience would be a major advantage
Working Hours & Overtime

Monday - Thursday: 6:00am - 4:30pm

  • Friday: 6:00am - 11:00am
  • Saturday: 6:00am - 11:00am
